Embossed Folders
Embossed folders add a third dimension to your printed materials through raised or recessed design elements that you can feel with your fingertips. This centuries-old technique creates a tactile brand experience that flat printing simply cannot match — your logo, patterns, or text physically rise from the surface, demanding attention through touch.
Embossing works by pressing the card stock between matched male and female dies under pressure, permanently reshaping the paper fibers into your design. The result is a subtle yet unmistakable mark of quality. Debossing pushes the design into the surface for an equally refined but different aesthetic.
Our embossed folders are produced on 400 GSM card stock to ensure the material has enough body to hold the dimensional impression. Available as blind emboss (no ink, texture only), registered emboss (aligned with printed elements), or combined with foil for maximum visual impact.

FAQs: Embossed Folders
What is the difference between embossing and debossing?
Embossing raises the design above the surface, creating a bump you can feel. Debossing pushes the design into the surface, creating an indented impression. Both create a premium tactile effect.
What is blind embossing?
Blind embossing means the raised or recessed design has no ink or foil — the effect comes purely from the texture and shadow created by the dimensional change. It is subtle and very elegant.
Can I combine embossing with foil?
Yes, foil embossing combines both techniques — the design is raised and covered in metallic foil simultaneously, creating a dramatic 3D metallic effect.
How detailed can the embossing be?
Embossing works best for bold logos, text (minimum 10pt), and simple patterns. Very fine lines or tiny text may not emboss cleanly. We recommend reviewing your design with our team.
Why is 400 GSM recommended for embossing?
Heavier card stock holds the embossed impression better and longer. Thinner paper may not retain the dimensional effect as well, especially in high-humidity environments.
